The Role:
At Metaversal, investments are about understanding blockchain protocols, token designs, and early stage projects to identify the next generation of category-defining companies.
We are looking for an exceptional Portfolio Manager to lead our investment team, source, perform diligence, and execute high-conviction investments into the most promising NFT opportunities. As a leader, you will evaluate complex projects, structure investments, and make decisions on prospective deals. The Portfolio Manager will take raw market signals and translate them into actionable investment theses targeting asymmetric upside.

You will dive deep into bleeding edge protocols, track developer activity, evaluate network effects, and construct portfolio exposure across tokens, equity, and derivative instruments.

Responsibilities:
Research and formulate investment strategies across NFTs, metaverse, and web3 markets
Identify and perform diligence on category-defining deals and assets
Evaluate complex projects and make formal recommendations
Structure and execute investments across tokens, equity, debt, and other instruments
Establish relationships with founders, artists, platforms and key players
Set investment goals, define success metrics, and track performance
Monitor industry trends, network activity, data to inform pipeline
Present findings and recommendations to the Metaversal Asset Management (MAM) team
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or related field.
Demonstrated track record of success in prior roles.
Sound in your business judgment and have an eye for detail: you obsess over the quality of the research and level of work. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to quickly prioritize while managing multiple projects and responsibilities.
Adaptable and possess a love of learning: ability to learn on the fly and quickly adapt to a changing (+ growing) environment.
~5 years of experience in an investing role, ideally with training at an investment bank and/or private equity firm.
Knowledge of at least one blockchain ecosystem at an advanced level (e.g., Ethereum [including Arbitrum, Polygon, BSC], Polkadot, Tron, Solana]
Prior experience (personal or professional) in web3, blockchain, crypto, or NFTs and knowledge of the players within the field.
Inquisitiveness and interest in macroeconomics and business cycle modeling.
Strong work ethic and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Experience analyzing financial statements and/or financial modeling.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
